PURPOSE:To prevent dust explosion, by providing a sensor for a prescribed temperature in a powdery or granular material tank installed on a vehicle body and by supplying inert gas into the tank in response to the action of the sensor to reduce the oxygen concentration in the tank. CONSTITUTION:On a vehicle 1 for transporting a powdery or granular material such as pulverized coal, a tiltable frame 4 is pivotally connected to an auxiliary frame 3 so taht the tiltable frame can be driven by a hydraulic cylinder 5. A powdery or granular material tank 7 provided with a reinforcing frame 6 is installed on the tiltable frame 4. A container 8 filled with inert gas such as carbon dioxide is mounted in an appropriate position on the reinforcing frame 6 and connected to the tank 7 through a pipe 9 in which a pressure reducing valve 10 and a cock 11 are provided. A temperature sensor 12 is provided in the tank 7 to detect its internal temperature. When the detected temperature has reached a set level, a controller 13 acts to open the cock 11 by a rotary solenoid 14 to supply the inert gas into the tank 7. |
