PURPOSE:To uniform the waviness of a covered optical fiber by preventing adhesion between a protective pipe and the optical fiber by sticking a surface lubricant to the optical fiber, and then fitting it in the protective pipe. CONSTITUTION:After a surface lubricant selected among silicone, paraffin wax, and petroleum jelly supplied from a supplying device 11 to a storage room 9 is stuck to an optical fiber (f) covered with plastic resin such as nylon, the fiber is fed to the tip side of a nipple 3 and sent out of the nipple 3 from a feed through hole 6. This optical fiber (f) enters a protective pipe (p) of thermosetting resin extruded from a die 2 and fitted in it successively. Further, a throttle valve 10 wirings an excessive surface lubricant stuck to the optical fiber. Further, a heater 14 increases the viscosity of the surface lubricant by heating to prevent the surface lubricant from flowing out of a terminal part during a terminal treatment after manufacture. |
