<p>An electronic control for a vehicle transmission having a clutch (21), the engagement of which is controlled by a control means (21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29) responsive to a clutch engagement signal (S<Sub>e</Sub>). An electronic speed ratio logic (11) for selection of the appropriate transmission gear ratio can produce a disengagement signal (S<Sub>d</Sub>) which overrides the engagement signal (S<Sub>e</Sub>) to cause the control means to disengage the clutch (21). A limiting means (15) is activated by a gear change signal (Sg) from the logic (11) to produce a limit signal (S<Sub>I</Sub>) which partially overrides the engagement signal (S<Sub>e</Sub>) to prevent full engagement of the clutch when the disengagement signal ceases, and the gear change signal is in operation.</p> |
