PURPOSE:To alleveiate or prevent occurrence of a fringe pattern due to light interference even when a photoconductive layer is exposed to a monochromatic light capable of causing light interference in a laser beam printer, by providing a light dispersion reflection layer on the substrate surface of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:Since laser beams are monochromatic light capable of causing light interference in a laser beam printer, the beams interfere in a photoconductive layer and forms a light fringe pattern, causing the fringe pattern in the electrostatic latent image and the developed image, too. The occurrence of the fringe patterns is most affected by the light reflected by the surface of a substrate 18. The interference fringes are prevented by providing a rough surface on the substrate 18 to form a light dispersion reflection surface free from brilliancy and disperse the light reflected by the substrate surface. Such a light-dispersing reflection surface can be formed by methods, such as subjecting an aluminum substrate surface to pear-skin anode oxidation treatment, or causing minute grain roughness by sand blasting. |
