PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce power consumption of a compressor by sensing the temperature of air just behind an evaporator and shifting a variable capacity member inside the compressor in response to the sensing signal so that the performance of the compressor may be controlled. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of air behind an evaporator is detected by a sensor 14. When the detected temperature is raised due to an increase in the cooling load, the thermistor resistance of the sensor 14 is reduced. As the result, a current flows to cause positive turning of a servo motor 17 and its motion is transmitted via a worm gear 18 to clockwise turn a worm gear 125, an operation shaft 126, spur gears 127, 128 and variable rings 129, 130, thereby increasing the net volume of a cylinder. Then the performance of a compressor is enhanced, the air temperature just behind the evaporator is gradually reduced. The power consumption of the compressor may be thereby remarkably reduced. |
