CONTACT ASSEMBLY FOR PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD

A new and improved contact assembly for use with printed circuit boards has first and second contact members which respectively define first and second insulation displacing slots which are aligned in spaced relation along a first axis. A third contact member defines a third insulation displacing slot and biasingly disposes the third slot along a second axis which is offset from the first axis. The third contact member is movable to dispose the third slot along the first axis in the course of insertion of an electrical conductor in the assembly. The contact assembly improves the electrical connection between conductor and contact by forcing the conductor to follow a tortuous path during insertion.
