PURPOSE:To provide a magnetically driven arc welding device which is reduced of a size and weight and facilitates acceleration during press welding by holding a holding plate fixing clamping devices to guide shafts in a gliding state, and fixing cylinders for press welding to the end parts of the guide shafts. CONSTITUTION:Clamping jigs 2, 3 are fixed to the pistons 7, 8 of oil hydraulic cylinders 5, 6, and the cylinders 5, 6 are fixed to holding plates 6, 10. Guide shafts 11, 12 are fixed to the plate 9 and the plate 10 is held in a gliding state to the shafts 11, 12 by means of bearings 19, 20. Pipels 1a, 1b to be welded are gripped while their end faces are held in contact with each other by forcing the pistons 7, 8 downward, thence a positioning cylinder 14 is forced out by operating a positioning cylinder 13 to press the plate 10, thereby providing some clearance between the pipes 1a and 1b. Thence, an arc is generated between the pipes 1a and 1b, and the arc column is rotated around the pipe end by an electromagnetic coil 4. Thence, the cylinder 18 is operated and the positioning cylinders are operated reverse to force out the plate 10, whereby the pipes are press welded quickly. |
