<p>The apparatus for checking the validity of coins requires electric power for its coin-checking operation and comprises members 4, 5, 6, which determine a coin path, and at least one member HF1, LF, HF2 for interacting with a coin on the coin path and producing an information signal. One of the interacting members HF1 produces an information signal depending on at least the great majority of coin types, and the apparatus has circuit members 316, 315 for determining whether the information signals indicate an acceptable coin. Detector members 316 are adapted so as, in the presence of the information signal from said interacting member, to initiate the supply to the apparatus of sufficient power for its coin- checking operation. The detector member is thus adapted to function irrespective of whether or not the information signal from said interacting member indicated an acceptable coin, as a result of which the power supply takes place essentially each time a coin passes along the coin path. <IMAGE></p> |
