PURPOSE:To obtain a meter housing easily at low cost without using an expensive metallic mold, etc., by forming a tapered thin and long hollow cylinder whic has a beltlike recessed part by using a synthetic resin, and cutting it at the upper end of the recessed part and then combining it. CONSTITUTION:A meter housing for preventing a water meter from breaking down owing to freezing is formed by treating a vinyl chloride resin by blast formation as an entirely tapered thin and long hollow cylinder 1 which is circularly sectioned. The cylinder 1 has two stages of annular recessed parts 2 and 2; step parts 3 and 4 are formed over and under each recessed part, and the lower step part 4 is deeper than the upper step part 3. Further, a vertical wall 5 which has width nearly equal to that of the annular recessed part 2 is formed over each annular recessed part 2. This cylinder 1 is cut at the step parts 3 into split hollow bodies, and the vertical walls 8 of those split hollow bodies are fitted in the recessed parts 2, so that a water meter is manufactured easily only by combining the split hollow bodies without any special constitution for connection. |
