<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate need to inform a system of menu contents every time they are changed by separating pull-down menu specification into title bar specification and menu specification. CONSTITUTION:A system main body 1 when receives a title bar display request displays it and generates an event of title selection. Then, the input from a mouse 3 is monitored and when an operator clicks a title bar, a menu display request is generated after the completion of the event is known. The system main body 1 displays a menu at the menu display request and generates an event of menu selection. For a mouse driven menu, the input from the mouse 3 is monitored, a current menu is displayed in an emphasized state, and the event is finished when the mouse button is released. For a keyboard driven menu, on the other hand, the emphasized display of the current menu is changed with cursor movement keys, the event is finished with a selection key, and then the menu is cleared. An application knows which menu is selected by the completion of the event.</p> |
