The guide for forming piling for harbours is used to interlock the flanges (B1,B2) of the channels which form the structure. It has a base plate with two parallel angles mounted back to back at one end. This forms a gap (4) to receive the bottom of a channel. A second channel facing in the opposite direction, is then guided by rollers (10,19,20,23) so that it can be lowered from a disengaged position to an interlocked position. The length of one channel enables it to fit inside the first channel, and pins (7) are inserted through holes in the two angles and the channel between them to secure the bottom of the channel. The rollers are in pairs at right angles to match the shape of the flanges on the sides of the channels. One (10) of the rollers at the joint region is oscillated about an axis parallel to its axis to assist connection.
|
