PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of electric power, by performing cooling operation at the total capacity of compressors corresponding to the level of heat load by controlling operation stopping period to be long when the heat load of an objected to be cooled is low and controlling it to the contrary when the heat load is high. CONSTITUTION:In the daytime in summer (when the heat load is maximum), for instance, timers 1, 2, 3 are set at 20min, 3min and 17min, respectively. By such setting of the timers 1, 2, 3, only a compressor A (not shown) is operated for the first 3min of one cycle of 20min, and compressors A, B (not shown) are operated next 14min. As for the remaining 3min, operation of all the compressors is stopped. On the other hand, in the night in winter (when the heat load is minimum), the timers 1, 2, 3 are set at 20min, 12min and 12min, respectively. As to operation of the compressors, only the compressor A is operated for the first 12min of one cycle of 20min, and all of the compressors are kept at rest for the remaining 8 min. By thus selecting the mode of operation to meet with the variation of heat load, it is enable to minimize operation of the compressors. |
