PURPOSE:To eliminate the round of a gear pump or a motor and to raise the volumetric efficiency of the same, by reducing the thickness of a seal block at its middle portion so that it is deflected by the function of high-pressure oil, and thereby compensating the clearance between the seal block and side plates or bushes. CONSTITUTION:In the inner surface of a seal block 26, there are formed arcuate surfaces 29, 30 which serve as sealing surfaces for the tooth tips of two gears 16, 17. A groove 31 and a thin part 32 are formed at the middle part of the seal block 26, i.e., at the boundary of the arcuate surfaces 29 and 30. The seal block 26 is supported in a body 13 by means of a pair of side plates 33 having the same form. With such an arrangement, when high-pressure oil is introduced into a high-pressure area 28, the seal block 26 is urged onto the tooth tips of the two gears 16, 17, so that the contact parts can be sealed positively. Further, since the thin part 32 is deflected by the function of the high-pressure oil and the clearance between the seal block 26 and side plates 33 is compensated, it is enabled to increase the volumetric efficiency of the pump or motor, and at the same time, to eliminate the sound of the same. |
