The present invention relates to an apparatus for the contamination-free transfer of articles between two spaces of different germ content, which can also be described as a disinfection immersion lock. In principle, articles can be passed through the lock either dry or wet, in order to reach the SBF area, which is completely germ-free and is separated by a wall from the other space. The lock possesses a container and perfectly sealable apertures, so that the article to be transferred can be easily and quickly introduced and likewise removed again from the container of the lock. The actual invention resides in the fact that, dispensing with pumps and storage tanks, and with a relatively small volume of the immersion lock according to the invention, articles can be transferred easily and quickly and with increased safety between the spaces in question. The container is displaceable perpendicularly to the plane of passage and can be immersed in a sterilisation or treatment fluid for an adjustable residence time.
