A circuit for splitting the signal of a PAL chrominance signal, using a delay line having precisely one line period delay time, is proposed. To generate the carrier-frequency colour difference signal (U, V) two parallel-connected phase shifting sections, which produce a phase shift of +/-45 DEG , are arranged between input and output of the delay line.
