The invention relates to a method of controlling a room-heating installation with a heating device, a number of heat transmitters, a circulating pump, an expansion vessel and valves which are connected in a flow circuit and of which the valves to the heat transmitters are opened and closed depending upon temperature sensors. Known methods of this type have in particular the disadvantage that rooms are fully heated even when not or only seldom used for a relatively long period of the day. This problem is not even solved by thermostatic radiator valves. The invention proposes, in the case of a method of the abovementioned type, that both the surface of each heat transmitter and each room are assigned temperature sensors which are scanned at an adjustable frequency by a recording device and cause a control device to open the valve in the course of the respective heat transmitter in the event of a deviation of the actual temperature value of the heat transmitter surface and of the room temperature from their desired temperature values and to close the valve when the desired temperature value of the heat transmitter surface is reached. With this, a cost-reducing room temperature control depending on external influences acting individually on each room is guaranteed with relatively low heating device capacity but with utilisation of a high efficiency of the heating device.
