PURPOSE:A novel cosmetic, containing an extract of rude drugs selected from Prunella asiatica Nakai, Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc., Cinnamomum cassia Blume, Prunus mume Sieb. et. Zucc. and Vitex rotundifolia Linn., having remarably improved effect on the prevention of dark skin, lever spots and ephelides, caused by the inhibition against tyrosinase activity without a harmful influence. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic prepared by extracting one or two or more crude drugs selected from the group consisting of Prunella asiatica Nakai, Cornus officinalis Sieb. et. Zucc. Cinnamomum cassia Blume, Prunus mume Sieb. et. Zucc. and Vitex rotundifolia Linn. are extracted with an organic solvent, e.g. methanol, or a mixed solvent thereof with water, and incorporating resultant extract therein as an active constituent. The amount of the extract from the crude drugs is 0.05-20wt%, preferably 0.1-10wt%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic. |
