Adhesion device for cross-country skis

Cross-country skiing and ski-hiking are increasingly practised by elderly people who lack the physical requirements to cope with ascents and descents reliably and without falling. The subject matter of this proposal is a device which, under loading conditions, allows cylindrical hard metal or plastic pins to protrude 5 to 10 mm from the plane of the running surface of the ski so that better adhesion between the ski and the track is achieved than with the usual scaled running surfaces. Since the pins are flush with the lower edge of the ski running surface in the gliding position (when the ski is pulled along and when the ski is loaded by the heels), the slidability of the skis fitted with adhesion devices is greater than the slidability of skis with scales or scale-type profiles since the profiling of the ski running surface is not required in conjunction with the adhesion devices explained here. By means of an arresting device, the adhesion device can be fixed both in the starting position (for flat routes) and in the position with protruding pins (for ascents and descents).
