The device for the sealed fire-protected bushing of a cable or the like through a fire-resistant fire wall (12) has a piece of tubing (4) which is inserted into an opening (13) in the fire wall (12), is sealed against said fire wall, holds the cable (1) with free play and is sealed to the cable (1) at both ends. The space inside the piece of tubing (4) is filled with a fire-protection cement (7) which can deform but hardens in the event of fire, and which is enclosed on its circumferential surface towards the piece of tubing (4) by a piece of shrink sleeving (5) which shrinks in heat. The fire-protection cement (7) and the piece of shrink sleeving (5) have thermal behaviours which are matched to one another such that the shrinkage of the piece of shrink sleeving (5) takes place at lower temperatures than the hardening of the fire-protection cement (7). Thus, in the event of a fire, the piece of shrink sleeving (5) presses the fire-protection cement (7) in a sealing manner against the cable (1) before said fire-protection cement (7) hardens in the heat of the fire. <IMAGE>
