Arrangement for displaying radar video signals

Under certain circumstances, the radar display can be brightened by clutter components in the raw video signals to such an extent that the discovery of targets in the clutter region from the radar display is only made more difficult or is no longer possible at all. The video signal with clutter is attenuated by additional time-dependent attenuation of the video signals on the analysis side before the display device, as determined by the intensity of the clutter components in the video signals, in such a manner that the dynamic range of the display device is again adequate for recognising true targets in the noise background. A number of adjustment possibilities are provided for varying the additional attenuation with time, one of which is selected as determined by the particular intensity of the interfering echo.
