PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material improved in sensitivity without increasing fog, by forming a silver halide emulsion layer containing a specified compound on a support. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion layer formed on a support contains a compound represented by the general formulaIin which R1-R6 are each H, alkyl, aryl, or acyl, and X is a >=2C chain, exemplified by the formulas II and III. In the formulaI, the alkyl group represented by R1-R6 is preferably a lower alkyl group, such as methyl, ethyl, or propyl, and the aryl group is preferably phenyl or naphthyl. To add the compound shown by the formulaIto the silver halide emulsion layer, for example, its sulfate or the like is dissolved in a solvent, and this solution is added in the stage of growth of the silver halide crystals, the completion of the growth, etc. |
