PURPOSE:To reduce the noise of a stepping motor at the starting time by starting always the motor from the specific step. CONSTITUTION:When a start pulse 8 is fed from a start pulse generator 2 prior to a drive pulse, this pulse is outputted from an NAND gate 7 in synchronization with a clock supplied to a flip-flop 6, is inputted through integrators (c), (r) to an excitation sequence generator 3 to reset a counter 4. Thus, the pulse sets so that the step sequence of an excitation sequency generator 3 starts from zero step. Then, a pulse control circuit 1 outputs a drive pulse 9, a counter counts it, and the output is decoded by a decoder 5, and a stepping motor is started by the excitation pulse of the zero step. In this manner, since the excitation pulse of the zero step is always outputted at the starting time, the turning direction at the starting time can be determined, thereby suppressing the resonance phenomenon of the stepping motor. |
