PURPOSE:To determine the displacement of a wire end from a pad by a method wherein a scanning line is drawn in specified relation with the known pad location and two points are detected whereat the scanning line intercepts the circumference of a wire end for determining the center of the wire end. CONSTITUTION:A command from a controlling system causes the center YP of a pad 12 to be read out and stored in a counter 22. A counter 21 is activated to gain access to a memory 8 through an access circuit 23 and data are supplied to a register 24 and then to a register 25. A signal rises when a counter receives an X1 signal, and the register 24 is activated and stores the signal X1, while the register 25 stores an X2 signal upon detecting a fall in the signal. The operator 26 determines the central point XQ by using two points X1 and X2 on the circumference of the end of wire 13 and yields a difference DELTAX between the XQ and XP in the form of a displacement quantity in the direction X. The same procedure is repeated for the quantity in the direction Y. This setup realizes a simple system wherein bonding position displacement quantities are detected properly and easily. |
