PURPOSE:To connect electrode poles, each of which is prepared by connecting a number of positive or negative electrode plates, without deteriorating their strength and electric conductivity by making the said electrode poles to face to one another by interposing a partition cell wall between them, and fusing the said electrode poles at the opening of the partition wall through the irradiation of a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:After electrode poles 6 and 6', each of which is prepared by connecting a number of positive plates 2 or negative plates 3', are made to face to one another by interposing a partition wall 7 between them, the poles 6 and 6' are fused 15 by focusing and irradiating a laser beam 17 on an opening 18 of the partition wall 7. The plates 2 and 3' are held horizontally with electrode-pole holding tools 13 and 14, in order to prevent metal molten with the beam 17 from falling into the plates 2 and 3'. The holding tool 14 has an opening 16 with a given size, through which the beam 17 is irradiated on the pole 6'. In addition, the beam 17 is shifted over the surface of the pole 6' by moving a concave mirror 18 so as to perform specified fusion. The beam 17 discharged from a single generator is divided into plural lines, and a plural number of fusing parts are fused simultaneously. Consequently, fusion with an improved strength and electric conductivity can be carried out. |
