METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTI-LEVEL EYE REGISTRATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus that can reduce negative effects of errors induced by a suction ring.SOLUTION: A method for performing multi-level eye registration comprises: a step of obtaining a first eye image by a first diagnostic device and defining a reference coordinate system; a step of obtaining a second eye image by a surgery device; a step of performing a first registration between the first eye image and the second eye image to obtain a first registration result; a step of obtaining a third eye image by the surgery device, the third eye image being obtained after surgery has started; a step of performing a second registration between the second eye image and the third eye image; and a step of combining the first and second registration results to obtain a combined registration result between the first and third eye images. The first and third eye images are obtained under different eye conditions which can negatively affect a direct registration between them. The different eye conditions comprise: the eye having no suction ring being placed on it when the first eye image is taken and the eye having the suction ring being placed on it when the third eye image is taken.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
