PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a field coil due to centrifugal force by containing a superconductive field coil in the slot of a coil mounting shaft and then securing it with a wedge, thereby preventing the superconductive breakdown due to frictional heat. CONSTITUTION:After a race track-shaped superconductive field coil 3 wound on a bobbin 16 is contained in the slot of a coil mounting shaft, the coil is secured with a wedge 19. A space 22 is formed between the wedges 19. In this manner, the coil 3 can b rigidly secured, thereby preventing the superconductive breakdown due to frictional heat, and even if the coil is formed of brittle material, the damage can be prevented. Since liquid helium flows through the space 22, cooling effect can be enhanced. |
