PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of error of fuel injection quantity due to variation of operating speed, by constructing an inlet valve with a spool valve. CONSTITUTION:The position of a spool valve 39 is determined by the balance between the inner pressure in a regulating accumulation chamber 5 and a hollow hole 41 and the inner pressure in a bias chamber 40. When the volume in the bias chamber 40 is set properly, an inlet valve 17 can be closed by moving the spool 39 to a top dead center upon increase of the inner pressure in a pump chamber 15 and the regulating accumulation chamber 5 to a predetermined level for opening a check valve. Here, the closing timing of the inlet valve 17 is matched with that being achieved when the inner pressure of the pump chamber 15 reaches to the predetermined check valve closing pressure, and when a plunger 16 lowers furthermore, fuel is pressure fed from the pump chamber 15 to an accumulation type injection nozzle. Since the bias chamber 40 and the accumulation chamber 5 are communicated when the spool 39 is positioned at the top dead center, erroneous inner pressure of the accumulation chamber 5 and erroneous position of the spool 39 are eliminated before the plunger starts to lower. |
