The air-drying device proposed is provided with an air drier (6). For regeneration of the drying medium some of the compressed air that has already been dried is recirculated via the air drier (6). A valve device consisting of two solenoid valves (7, 8) takes care of the switching work. The valve device is driven via an electronic switching device (11) which is driven with signals of a time-measuring device (12), a pressure control device, an air volume meter or a moisture meter.
