MEASURING METHOD FOR CONTACT RESISTANCE VALUE OF CONTACT MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a correct contact resistance value rapidly by driving detection pins connected electrically with a contact resistance meter into a contact material, by sliding the contact material under the condition that a fixed load is laid thereon and by measuring thus the contact resistance value continuously. CONSTITUTION:Contact materials 8 and 9 are held in the sliding grooves 5 and 7 of a base block 2 in such a manner that the precious-metal parts 8a and 9a thereof are in contact with each other. Detection pins 11 and 10 connected electrically with a contact resistance meter 1 are driven into the end parts of the respective foundations 8b and 9b of the above contact materials 8 and 9 by the action of compression springs 15 and 14, respectively. A weight 16 having the weight decided on te basis of a contact pressure at the time of employment is placed on the contact materials 8 and 9 mounted on the base block 2 in this way. Then, while the contact materials 8 and 9 are slided relatively as shown by arrows in the figure, the contact resistance values of both contact materials 8 and 9 are measured continuously at a plurality of places by the contact resistance meter 1.
