PURPOSE:To extract the straight line, the peculiar point and the symbol, by carrying out a process to a binary picture of the linear graph obtained through a photoelectric conversion. CONSTITUTION:The data of an original picture comprising the binary signals read out of a photoelectric transducer is stored in an original picture memeory M1. At the same time, the information on the segment intersections, etc. and the information on the contour line of the symbol, etc. are stored in a connection information memory M2 and a form information memory M3 respectively. Furthermore, a template showing the form of the symbol is previously registered in a template memory M4. On the other hand, a segment deciding circuit PR1 decides whether a sensor is tracing on a signal line, and a feature extracting circuit PR2 classifies the intersections or symbols the sensor encounters and compares the symbol with the template to recognize the symbol. In such a way, the straight line, the peculiar point and the symbol can be extracted. |
