PURPOSE:To constitute a voltage regulating device so that a quiescent section is not generated in output voltage to a load, by connecting a series circuit consisting of a winding wound around on the same core with each winding, and an electric power supply variable switch element, to an input winding in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A voltage regulator 5 is constituted of a parallel circuit consisting of a primary winding 1 having number of turns n1, a primary winding 10 having number of turns n2, and a series circuit of a Triac 8 being an electric current variable switch element, and a secondary winding 2 having number of turn n3, being an output winding which has been transformer-coupled with each primary winding 1, 10. Also, both ends of the parallel circuit are connected to an electric power source 6, and also both ends of the secondary winding are connected to a load 7, by which the voltage regulator is formed. In this case, when the number of turns n1 is made much larger than n2, voltage being equal to n3/ n1XVs (provided that Vs denotes supply voltage) is induced across the secondary winding when the Triac 8 is off, and the output voltage being almost equal to n3/n2XVs is induced when the Triac 8 is on, therefore, the output voltage is regulated by changing the on-section of the Triac 8 in each half cycle of the electric power supply. |
