PROCESS FOR PREPARING POLYOLEFIN POWDER COATINGS

Powders of polyolefins such as low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers and ionomer resins are dry blended with a slip agent-containing concentrate and a free flow agent to provide coating compositions having good lubricity characteristics. The blended polyolefin powders can be applied by electrostatic coating or fluidized bed coating to such objects as glass containers to improve their impact and shattering resistance.
