PURPOSE:To prevent a long material from harmful injuries or striking damages in a long material conveying device by gripper feed by clamping the long material with a plastic tape applied as feeding and winding up the tape in accordance with the feeding of the long material. CONSTITUTION:Output torques of an electromagnetic brake 8 and an electromagnetic clutch 9 are controlled at a constant level, and a plastic tape 7 provided with a fixed tension is applied to a clamping face of a long material 1. Then, the long material 1 is clamped at a prescribed pressure by a clamp arm 22 of a conveying block 2. This conveying block 2 is moved as an arrow B shows by a piston rod 5 at a prescribed length. By this movement, the tape 7 is given a feeding force as the arrow B shows, and torques of the electromagnetic brake 8 and the electromagnetic clutch 9 are unbalanced. Consequently, the tape 7 is wound up on a reel 13 by the moved length of the tape 7. Meanwhile, the long material 1 is clamped with the tape applied by a clamp arm 32 of a fixed block 3, and the conveying block 2 is released from clamping and returned to the original position. By repeating this operation, the long material 1 is continuously and correctly sent out at the prescribed length. |
