摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enlarge the light transmitting rate of a liquid crystal light bulb and to reduce a hysteresis effect, in the electronic photographing type printing device using the liquid crystal light bulb, by mixing an optical active material in the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:Over a glass substrate 11 provided with signal electrodes 16, 16-1, and 16-2, a glass substrate 12 having common electrodes is fixed by a sealing agent 13, and a liquid crystal composition is enclosed therebetween. As for the liquid crystal composition, the optical active material, e.g., 3wt% of 4-(2-methylbutyl)-4-cyanobiphenyls added to e.g. the nematic liquid crystal 1,085 made by E. MercK Company, and a cholesteric liquid crystal having a long period is obtained. Thus the light transmitting rate of the liquid crystal liner bulb becomes large and the effect in which hysteresis disappears can be obtained.</p>
