Medium comprises a soln. of ammonia, and alkaline substances, pref. in satd. or super-satd. condition, e.g., a soln. of lithium in ammonia. The soln. can also be ammonia and potassium or sodium. To provide even better conductivity, a foam metal granulate based on aluminium or magnesium of grain size 2 to 10 mm is added to the soln. The hermetically sealed pores of the foam metal are so adjusted that the specific wt. of the granulate is the same as that of the remainder of the soln. - The easy-flowing work medium is a good conductor of electricity and heat carrier.
