PURPOSE:To improve maneuverability of a vehicle by using a movable lock mechanism of a seat adjuster for a engaging portion of a lock mechanism of front and rear suspension systems incorporated in the seat adjuster. CONSTITUTION:When a rod 9' of a seat adjuster locking mechanism 8 is pivoted with a lever 9, a tooth 15a of an engaging body 15 is slanted downward and disengaged from a cut-out hole 11 in a fixed side rail 4b so that a movable side rail 4a is slidably released to move a seat forward and backward. When the lever 9 is released from pivoting, the rod 9' is returned by springs 16a, 16b so that the engaging tooth 15a is inserted into the corresponding cut-out hole 11 to fix the movable side rail 4a. Also, when under such condition a lever 8 of the locking mechanism 8 for a suspension system 5 is pivoted, an engaging body 19 is pivoted with a rod 7' so that a tooth 19a is disengaged from a tooth 15b of the engaging body 15. When forward and backward vibration is applied to a seat, the seat is moved forward and backward within the elastic expansion range of springs 16a, 16b between lugs 13a, 13b of a bracket 13 and the engaging body 15. |
