PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure viscosity of a specimen of any kind by placing a viscous liquid specimen between two parallel plates and opening it up under load and seeking conversion into radius of the thickness of the specimen that changes with time. CONSTITUTION:A parallel plate type viscosity meter 1 is provided with two flat plates 2 and 3. The inner faces a and b of the plates 2 and 3 are flat respectively and both face each othr. Those faces a and b constitute parallel faces that press a specimen between them and try to spread it. The approach or part from each other in parallel. A viscosity specimen is placed between them and spreaded with a load on those two plates. Viscosity is measured by seeking radius that is convertd from th measured thickness which changes with time. By this method viscosity of a specimen of any kind whethr it is transparent or not can be measured. |
