PULSE MOTOR DRIVE CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To rise drive current sharply at the switching of drive phase and enable high-speed drive, by inserting a choke coil in series between a power supply and a pulse motor. CONSTITUTION:Each of drive phase coils phiA-phiD for a pulse motor is connected to a power supply Vcc via a series of resistor R1 and choke coil Lc. Transistors TRA-TRD are connected to the other ends of coils. A control pulse from a pulse distributor PD is given to the bases of transistors TRA-TRD. The pulse motor revolves step by step while the drive phase coils phiA-phiD are driven sequently. Therefore, high drive voltage can be generated at the switching of drive phases by electromagnetic energy stored in the choke coil Lc. The drive current rises sharply to perform high-speed drive.
