PURPOSE:To increase the number of gradation stages at the recording side, by combining a recording pattern and the recording concentration. CONSTITUTION:An electric signal 19 which read an original 11 is converted into a digital signal 23 through an A/D converter 21. The digital signal 23 is stored in a line memory 31 and then read out of the memory 31 to be supplied to a code converter 41. An upper bit CAD given from a code converter 41 is led into a pattern genetator 49 for selection of a pattern. The lower bit signal HCV is supplied to a decoder 49, and one of timer groups 100 is selected to be shifted and delivered by the corresponding time width. The signals given from timers 110-11N are supplied to an OR gate 121, and a picture is printed on the recording paper by an AND output signal 143 with a pattern signal 131 which is serial to the output of the gate 121. Thus the gradation properties is increased without lowering the image resolution and the printing speed. |
