PURPOSE:To improve the assembling property and dimensional accuracy of a heat pipe installed between an oil sump and an exhaust pipe and reduce the production cost of the heat pipe, by making up the heat pipe of two separable and connectable parts and by coupling them to each other when assembling the internal combustion engine to a vehicle body. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust pipe 3 is connected to the exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine 4. An oil sunp 6 for lubricating oil 5 is provided at the bottom of the engine 4. A double heat pipe unit is composed of a pair of heat pipes 1, 2 which are provided with flanges 8, 9 and can be coupled to each other by bolts and nuts 10. The heat pipe 1, 2 are attached to or inserted into the exhaust pipe 3 and the oil sump 6. After the exhaust pipe 3 and the oil sump 6 are mounted on a vehicle body, the ends of the pipes 1, 2 are put in contact with each other and the flanges 8, 9 are conjoined to each other by the bolts and nuts 10. The heat pipes 1, 2 are thus separably coupled to each other. |
