<p>PURPOSE:To save energy for the biological purification of organic waste water, by biologically purifying the organic waste water under an aerobic or anaerobic condition, and then subjecting effluent, formed from the resultant outflow water by solid-liquid separation, to aerobic biological purification using a granular solid stationary bed. CONSTITUTION:Organic waste water 1 flows as an ascending flow through a dip filter bed 2 in which granular solid such as sand or granular active carbon is packed, so that a part of BOD is removed anaerobic or aerobic bacteria adherent to the surface of the granular solid. To outflow water 3 from the dip filter bed 2 is added an inorganic fluocculant 4, e.g. ferric chloride or polyferric- sulfate, or a macromolecular flocculant 5, e.g. a cationic polymer, in a coagulating vessel 14. The treated water is let flow into a centrifugal dehydrator 6a and separated into dewatered cake 7a and separated effluent 8a by solid-liquid separation. The separated effluent 8a is let flow into the stationary bed 9 of granular solid, and circulated as a counterflow against ascending bubbles from spargers 10, 10. In this way, the water is aerobically biologically purified.</p> |
