The bedstead comprises a head-end (1), a foot-end (2), two longitudinal members (3) connectable (at 11) to the ends (1,2), and a mattress support frame (4) itself supported by these members. To this end, the members are provided with inward projections (5) near their ends which may engage the frame, e.g. pins (5) capable of being inserted in the open ends of tubular transverse members (6) at the ends of the frame, before the members (3) are assembled to the ends (1,2). The pins (5) are pref. in line with downward projections (dotted lines) via which the members (3) are coupled (at 11) to the ends (1,2).
