<p>An electrical capacitor is proposed which has a winding (24) consisting of metal-coated films, especially plastic films, and is provided with a disconnection device which interrupts at least one electrical supply lead to the winding in the event of excessive heating of the winding. A breakaway conductor (48, 50) is provided in the electrical supply lead (40) as the disconnection device and its ends are anchored at points (52) whose mutual separation is a function of the changing magnitude or shape of the cross-sectional profile of the deforming winding (24). In the case of a preferred embodiment, the anchorage points (52) are provided on a slotted sleeve (42) which is pushed in a fitting manner over the winding (24). Furthermore, the breakaway conductor can preferably be formed by a metal coating (80) which is sprayed onto the slotted sleeve (82, Fig. 5) and has a narrowed (constricted) weak point in the region of the slot (84). This design has the advantage that the disconnection device responds in good time in the event of damage even in the case of those capacitors in which gases formed in the interior of the winding expand the winding radially. <IMAGE></p> |
