There is proposed a compressed air-operated hand tool wherein an improved sound damping is achieved without increasing the overall size which would be prejudicial to the handling ability. Inside the casing of the tool there is provided an air outlet channel (18) wherein a sleeve (19) having a cross-section area smaller than that of the channel (18) protrudes. Upstream of the sleeve (19) there is arranged a wall (20) wherein marginal holes (21) have been drilled. The passages (D1 and D2) for the air flow and the distances L1, L2, L3 - length of the sleeve, distance between the latter and the wall, length of the air outlet channel - are determined empirically to allow for an optimum dampening of the noise, particularly owing to the sheathes (22, 23) maintaining the wall (20). |
