PURPOSE:To obtain the oxidizing catalyst having high activity at a relatively low temp. and long life by adding an alkaline earth element to BaO and TiO2 which are the carrier of said oxidizing catalyst in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:As the carrier used in a perfect oxidizing type catalyst for an environmental pollution gas such as aldehyde or toluene, one prepared by adding 0.1-0.4g atom per 100mol of BaO and TiO2 of an alkaline earth metal such as aluminum or cerium to a BaO-TiO2 type carrier is used and a metal such as platinum or copper or a metal oxide thereof is supported thereto. The obtained oxidizing catalyst has enhanced catalytic activity and life. |
