<p>PURPOSE:To effectively deodorize a multi-component malodorant gas issued from an urban garbage compositing process and to prolong the life of activated carbon by a method wherein a NaClO concn. in an alkali-NaClO washing process after acid washing is lowered and an alkali washing process is further carried out. CONSTITUTION:The malodorant gas 11 generated in an urban garbage composting process is washed in a sulfuric acid washing tower 1 to absorb and remove an alkaline gas therein such as NH3 or the like, and after acid washing, the washed gas is washed with a NaOH-NaClO mixed liquid of which a NaClO concn. is adjusted to about 50-150ppm in a washing tower 2 to oxidize, absorb and remove a sulfur compound type gas such as H2S or the like and a composite component gas comprising esters, lower fatty acids or alcohols therein. Intermediate products not oxidized perfectly remained in the gas or Cl2 due to decomposition of NaClO are further absorbed and removed in a NaOH washing tower 3 and the residual malodorant components are perfectly adsorbed and removed at last in an activated carbon adsorbing tower 4 to be discharged as deodorized air.</p> |
