PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of dents on the rear surface of a product strip by providing a protective shielding wall which minimizes the influence of the air flow along the surface of a cooling roll upon molten metal flow by shutting it off in the fore stage part on the rotating entrance side of the cooling roll to a molten metal solidifying part. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 2 for ejection of molten metal is disposed in proximity opposite to the surface of a cooling roll 5 in such a way that the opening part of a slit 4 extends in the generator direction of the roll 5. A protective shielding wall 8 for shutting off of air flow across both edges in the transverse width of the opening part of the slit 3 is provided in the fore stage part on the rotating entrance side of the roll 5 in the part where the nozzle 2 is disposed. Hence, the dents produced on the rear surface of the product strip on account of the air flow generated along the surface of the roll 5 is prevented. |
