PURPOSE:To obtain the titled catalyst by adhering a catalytic substance to the roughened surface or a metal base material formed by a method wherein an acid resistant paint is sprayed on the surface of said metal base material and, after the formed coating is etched with an acid, said coating is removed. CONSTITUTION:To the surface of a metal base material such as iron or aluminum, at first, an acid resistant paint such as a phenol resin type paint or the like is sprayed to form a discontinuous coating having high density and fine voids. Subsequently, when parts to which the coating is not adhered are etched with an acid and the coating is removed, the surface of the base material is made rough. When a catalytic substance is adhered to the roughened surface, the catalyst having strong adhesion force of the catalytic component is prepared inexpensively. |
