The elbow rest for a car driver comprises a support surface or cushion (2) which is secured or formed on the inside of the door on the driver's side. The cushion may be carried by an L-shaped bracket (1) securable (4,5; 3,9,6) to the door e.g. via hooks (4) on the bracket engaging eyes (5) on a plate (3) which can be suspended (9,6) on the lower horizontal window frame member. The plate (3) may have an adhesive layer for fixing it to the door.
