PURPOSE:To make recording density uniform, by applying the voltage to control the quantity of toner sticking to a recording medium in accordance with the quantity of toner on a recording electrode or the state of a toner chain. CONSTITUTION:Two forces applying in the opposite directions to each other act on the toner 8' located at the tip part of a toner chain 8. One of these two forces is the force FM of a magnet 1 put at the back of a recording electrode 4, and the other is the force FQ caused by the Coulomb's force that acts on the area between the electric charge emerging at the tip 8' of the toner and the electric charge of a back electrode. The quantity of toner that shifts to a recording medium 9 from the electrode 4 is decided by the difference between the forces FM and FQ. The force FM changes in accordance with the shifting cycle of the magnet 1 since the magnet 1 at the back of the electrode 4 turns. At the same time, the quantity of toner on the electrode 4 also changes. These changes cause the uneven recording concentration. However, the force FQ also has a change of its cycle according to the shifting cycle of the magnet 1 via a converter 13, etc. Thus the uniform recording density is secured. |
